Owens Sisters Black Soap
Fragrance: A magical blend of lavender, rosemary, honey, & licorice.
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman is one of my favorite books. I have read it and the other books in the series many times through the years and I have always wanted to make the black soap that the Aunts whip up every march in the dark of the moon. This soap might not make you grow younger or wash away your sorrows, but it will delight your senses and make you squeaky clean!
"The best soap is made in March in the dark of the moon. But since you're here now, we'll do it tonight."
- The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman
Our soap is handmade with a luxurious blend of oils and butters and is always palm and phthalate-free. This soap is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Each bar of soap weighs approximately 4.5 oz but because our bars are hand-cut, weight and design will vary slightly.
We make our soap with distilled water, avocado oil, coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, kokum butter, sodium hydroxide, castor oil, fragrance, sodium citrate, sodium lactate, charcoal, and botanicals for decoration. Please remove botanicals before use!

HOW TO USE:
To help your soap last as long as possible, make sure to allow your soap to dry between washes and keep it out of the direct shower stream. We recommend using a soap dish that is designed to keep soap dry.
Botanicals
Sometimes a soap needs a little natural zhuzh to pull it together. It is best to remove any flower petals, seeds, dried fruit or flowers, and/or plant leaves, etc. before using your soap. They look pretty but are only meant to be decorative while your soap is waiting to be used. Otherwise, they can be scratchy or get soggy when you use your soap. Please remove any decorative botanicals before using your soap.
Activated Charcoal
Charcoal is a natural way to achieve a deep black color in cold processed soap but the color will bleed into the soap bubbles when the soap is being used. This is not harmful but can occasionally stain washcloths. We recommend doing a spot check on your washcloth fabric before using it to avoid any staining that may occur.
